Обусловлено это целым рядом причин, в том числе значительной распространенностью среди лиц пожилого и старческого возраста заболеваний, которые могут приводить к деменции. Деменция - это не нозологическая форма, а синдром, к которому могут приводить различные по этиологии патологические процессы. Правильная диагностика причины этого синдрома и адекватное лечение могут в ряде случаев привести к обратному развитию нарушений либо затормозить прогрессирование патологического процесса [1, 3, 4].
