Во-первых, это обусловлено широким распространением данного синдрома (до 30% в популяции). Во-вторых, клиническая значимость метаболических нарушений, объединенных рамками синдрома, заключается в том, что их сочетание ассоциируется с высоким риском развития сердечно-сосудистой патологии и сахарного диабета (СД) типа 2, которые, по оценкам Всемирной организации здравоохранения, занимают первое место среди причин смертности населения индустриально развитых стран мира [1]. Согласно современным представлениям в основе всех проявлений МС лежат инсулинорезистентность (ИР) и сопутствующая ей гиперинсулинемия (ГИ) [2]. Причиной развития ИР может быть абдоминальное ожирение, и ИР в этом случае будет результатом конкуренции свободных жирных кислот (СЖК) и глюкозы за вхождение в клетку [3].
