В 2007–2008 гг. у 68% жителей США индекс массы тела (ИМТ) превышал 25, что означало наличие избытка массы или ожирения у каждого второго из 3 американцев. По прогнозу Всемирной организации здравоохранения, к 2015 г. приблизительно 23 млрд взрослых будут иметь избыточную массу тела, величина которой у 700 млн среди них будет квалифицироваться как ожирение. Среди разных клинических аспектов ожирения, основными из которых являются метаболический синдром, ишемическая болезнь сердца, сахарный диабет (СД), некоторые виды злокачественных опухолей, апноэ во сне, наименее изученной проблемой, известной широкому кругу врачей, является ассоциация ожирения с инфекционной патологией. И, хотя в клинической практике была отмечена повышенная склонность к инфекциям у больных, страдающих ожирением, в настоящее время имеется явно недостаточно информации об эпидемиологии внебольничных и внутрибольничных инфекций при ожирении, механизмах повышенной склонности к инфекциям у лиц с избыточной массой тела, а также особенностях клинического течения инфекций и тактике антибактериальной терапии (АБТ) инфекций у пациентов с избыточной массой тела и ожирением.</p></abstract></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Flegal K.M., Carroll M.D., Ogden C.L., Curtin L.
