Клиническая практика, связанная с терапией СНМП/ДГПЖ в России, отражает применение традиционной лекарственной терапии, представленной в руководстве EAU и других руководствах, а также видов лечения, специфических для российских условий. Несмотря на отсутствие научно обоснованных доказательств, фитотерапия и пищевые добавки представляют собой часто рекомендуемый вид лечения среди врачей и фармацевтов в России. Причина данного явления сложная и включает в себя воздействие агрессивной рекламы со стороны производителей и недостаточную финансовую поддержку со стороны государства для отдельных категорий пациентов с низким уровнем дохода. С учетом имеющейся на сегодняшний день распространенности СНМП, вызванных ДГПЖ, у мужчин среднего и пожилого возраста в России явно существуют нереализованные потребности в лечении, которые не могут быть удовлетворены применяющимися в настоящий момент видами терапии. В качестве единственного ингибитора ФДЭ-5, в настоящее время зарегистрированного для лечения СНМП у мужчин с ДГПЖ, тадалафил представляет собой средство, которое можно применять либо в виде монотерапии, либо в комбинации с традиционными препаратами в основном у мужчин, страдающих и СНМП/ДГПЖ, и ЭД.
