Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are widely used in clinical practice by a large number of specialists: from traditional rheumatological and neurological practices to gynecological doctors and many other specialists. This fact is explained by the pharmacological properties of NSAIDs, being an effective tool in the therapy of pain and inflammation. At the same time, taking into account the mechanism of action of these drugs, it is necessary to take into account class-specific side effects of NSAIDs, primarily on the part of the gastrointestinal tract. Particular attention should be paid to patients who need long-term use and have risk factors for the development of NSAID-induced gastro-toxic lesions. Therefore, an important task in the appointment of any NSAID is the right choice in favor of an effective and safest drug with a selective mechanism of action. The use of selective inhibitors of cyclooxygenase-2 allows to minimize the incidence of the development of NSAID-induced complications, including bleeding. A popular and widely used in the clinical practice drug from this group of drugs is nimesulide, which has advantages over traditional NSAIDs, is effective and practically safe in the management of acute and chronic pain.

Нестероидные противовоспалительные препараты (НПВП) достаточно широко используются в клинической практике большим кругом специалистов: от традиционной ревматологической и неврологической практики до врачей гинекологического профиля и многих других специалистов. Данный факт объясняется фармакологическими свойствами НПВП, которые являются эффективным инструментом в терапии боли и воспаления. Вместе с тем с учетом механизма действия данных лекарственных средств необходимо учитывать и класс-специфичные побочные эффекты применения НПВП, в первую очередь со стороны желудочно-кишечного тракта. Особого внимания заслуживают пациенты, нуждающиеся в длительном их применении и имеющие факторы риска развития НПВП-индуцированных гастротоксических поражений. Следовательно, важной задачей при назначении любого НПВП является правильный выбор в пользу эффективного и наиболее безопасного препарата с избирательным механизмом действия. Применение селективных ингибиторов циклооксигеназы-2 позволяет минимизировать частоту развития НПВП-индуцированных осложнений, в том числе и кровотечений. Популярным и широко применяемым в клинической практике лекарственным средством из данной группы препаратов является нимесулид, который имеет преимущества перед традиционными НПВП, эффективен и практически безопасен в купировании острой и хронической боли.
